Government works for people

A government that works for people is one that listens, cares and gets to work on the things that matter most: relief from rising costs and fees, better services like health care and education, and an economy that works for everyone.

We have a vision and a plan to keep our economy strong, make life more affordable and deliver the services people count on. It will take time for those better choices to transform lives, revitalize communities and bring all of us together. We’re ready to make it happen.

Speech from the Throne

Our Three Priorities

Making Life More Affordable

Too many families were left behind for too long. We’re making better choices to make life more affordable.

Better Services for People

It’s time B.C.’s economic growth was put to work for the people who built this province. We will make better choices that connect people to the services they count on.

A Strong, Sustainable Economy

People need good-paying jobs and the chance to get ahead. We will make better choices that include everyone in B.C.’s continued economic growth.

Building a better B.C. starts with a strong foundation

A government-to-government partnership with Indigenous Peoples

We must build a true partnership based on rights, respect and reconciliation. Working with First Nations and all Indigenous communities, we will embrace the United Nations Declaration of the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and address all of the Calls to Action issued by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

Putting people at the centre of our politics

We will reform campaign finance laws to eliminate corporate and union donations, put strict limits on individual contributions and make sure that only people living in B.C. can donate to our political parties. We’ll also set the terms for a referendum on proportional representation to take place no later than November 2018 and will actively campaign in favour of reform.
